Are you tired of power struggles and food battles during mealtimes?

Are you struggling to find relevant, evidence-based nutrition information?

Want strategies to support big emotions during mealtimes?

Make mealtimes a time for connection and support children try new foods.

Know where to find credible and trustworthy information backed by science.

Be confident in what to do and say about nutrition with simple, easy strategies.

Food is Cool helps you focus on educating and raising healthy children to become adults that thrive.

Food is Cool was created when two worlds, and mums, collided: Dr. Flav (nutritionist) and Miss Sinead (teacher).

Our approach is fun and engaging… and shocking. The norm in society around food and nutrition is not the evidence-based way. We are tired of seeing nutrition education as simply knowledge sharing. We are here to help you, and everyone who has a role in a child’s life, to re-think and re-work (almost) everything you thought you knew about food and nutrition! Our focus is on the how rather than the what.

We are change-makers in nutrition education.

“The Early Foodi Program is amazing! I noticed big changes in children’s voices, a greater awareness of their understanding of the journey of food in their bodies, a greater sense of agency, and mealtimes became more meaningful. I would highly recommend the program as it’s easy to follow, and all the work has been done for me!”

Some kind words

Testimony from Amy Sparks, Early Childhood Teacher

Children’s voice

“When I role-modelled language of the Food is Cool program, children instantly picked it up using and used it in play and at home. The children said: "I eat berries on ice cream, berries are everyday foods. I like raspberries and spinach in smoothies. I’m a risk taker”.

The journey of food

Food is Cool’s resources not only helped the children learn where food comes from, well before it gets to the plate, but it helped me teach them what happens to food inside our bodies too!

Sense of agency

The children loved the concept of good bugs and bad bugs and the stool chart, which I placed a copy in the bathroom. Lots of conversations around the children's bowel movements took place, and the knowledge and language even went home. They enjoyed having agency in being able to take control of their health and wellbeing by eating a range foods and understanding their effect on their body.
